Meet Christopher Bonk

Owner Christopher BonkChristopher Bonk is a three-decade-long veteran of the Mad Men world of advertising. As an Illustrator, Animator, Art Director and Creative Director, Chris worked on such high profile campaigns as Marlboro, McDonald’s, Miller Beer and Cialis, to name a few.

With a degree in Fine Art, he is also an award winning and internationally acclaimed fine artist who’s shown and sold pieces in such cities as London, Amsterdam, Helsinki, Chicago and New York.

An avid vintage sports car racer, scuba diver and world traveler, Chris is now setting his sights on downtown Arlington Heights to bring the fun of interactive “Paint & Sip” adventures to the community with Bottle & Bottega: “I’ve been throwing parties since I was in 4th grade when I had a backyard carnival for Muscular Dystrophy. I love a good party! I grew up in neighboring Mount Prospect, was a resident of Arlington Heights in my 20s and I still live only a few miles away. It’s a very close- knit community and that’s what I love about it. When I first stumbled upon the Bottle & Bottega concept, I immediately liked it as it reminded me of my days in the art studio in college. After several decades of creating art with a computer, I am really enjoying the old-school feel of brush and canvas again. It’s something that can’t be recreated with a tablet or mouse.“

Chris is most looking forward to having a fun “art party” every night while giving back to the community where he grew up. Arlington Heights has a vibrant downtown life and he hopes to add to the scene and feels Bottle & Bottega will be embraced by the town, its residents and their guests.

Bottle & Bottega’s History

  • 2009 Founder Stephanie King-Myers creates her first masterpiece - the paint and sip concept was born
  • 2011 Franchise Executive Nancy Bigley partners with Stephanie and the concept that started as “Bottles & Brushes” gives way to the “Bottle & Bottega” brand that we all know and love
  • 2011 The Bottle & Bottega flagship studio in Lakeview opened. Then, the brand expanded through national franchising, giving us over 25+ locations nationwide
  • 2011 We innovate the “paint and sip” concept by focusing on all art forms (not just paint), to ensure we are always fresh & creative
  • 2011 We created and launched Paint Your Pet, glass painting, and nude male figure painting parties
  • 2012 MILESTONE! We hosted our 20,000th painter
  • 2013 We raised over $20k for local charities via our Bottle & Bottega Fundraiser Parties
  • 2013 We launched our electronic Loyalty Program to reward our VIPs
  • 2014 Launched black canvas painting parties
  • 2014 USA Today names Bottle & Bottega one of the best franchise concepts for Moms
  • 2015 Bottle & Bottega is named in Entrepreneur Magazine’s “Top New Franchises” list
