My Story

Meet Kory Kennedy

Owner Kory KennedyBefore returning to the Lehigh Valley where I grew up (in Whitehall), I spent the past 20+ years in New York City creating covers and layouts for millions of readers across the country. As a Design Director and Designer, I headed up the art departments of Entertainment Weekly, Runner’s World (back in Emmaus), and Spin magazine and had lead roles at iconic titles Rolling Stone and Sports Illustrated. Utilizing my degree in Communication Arts from Parsons School of Design, I have created hundreds of covers, and too many feature stories to count, and have received numerous awards and had many amazing experiences along the way.

But after spending half of my life embedded in the corporate world, in front of a computer screen, I decided that it was time to take a step back and reinvent myself (and get my hands dirty again). My family and I moved back to the Lehigh Valley in the summer of 2016 and I’ve been operating Bottle & Bottega as a mobile business in the LV for over a year and a half. I tested the waters in all areas of the Lehigh Valley before settling on a space in Downtown Easton for my new studio (the old laundromat up the hill). Easton is the town where my wife’s family business (Raymond Baurkot & Sons, Inc., now Allentown Beverage Company) originated as a closet-sized wholesaler of beer and grew into a business with 1,100 retail accounts, and where my father worked at Binney & Smith for the majority of my childhood. I’ve been lucky to build some great partnerships in Easton, including Pearly Baker’s Alehouse, Easton Public Market, Tolino Vineyards, State Theatre, 3rd & Ferry, and River Grille (to mention a few), and I’m very eager to continue making more!

Married to an over-the-top-dinner-party-planning wife, with two extremely creative boys, I’m a practitioner of Transcendental Meditation, and train in Muay Thai and kickboxing whenever I can. I’m especially excited about having art parties every night and bringing my passion for art (and of course, wine) to the community where I grew up. The Lehigh Valley, which already has strong artistic roots, is growing in so many ways… It’s the perfect time for a Bottle & Bottega, and I’m excited to be bringing the fun!
